Verisity Delivers Latest Version Of eCelerator; eCelerator Speeds STMicroelectronics' Verification by 75x
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 23, 2003--Verisity
Ltd. (Nasdaq:VRST), the leading supplier of essential technology and
methodology for functional verification, today announced
eCelerator(TM) version 1.1. eCelerator combines the power of the
Specman Elite(R) testbench automation solution with the high
performance of hardware-assisted verification, providing users with a
significant increase in verification performance. eCelerator version
1.1 features improved symbolic control flow analyses, yielding an
order of magnitude improvement in compile time of complex e language
programs. Version 1.1 also has improved error handling, more
automation and added support for nested lists. The latest version of
eCelerator has been in use on real customer designs and has sped the
verification process anywhere from 25 to 75 times over a pure
simulation-based environment.
STMicroelectronics has adopted eCelerator for use on their ASEF
project and has seen significant success with the testbench
acceleration solution. "eCelerator streamlines our system-level
verification environment and enables us to make better use of our
hardware verification platform by bringing it earlier into the
verification flow," said Francesco Sforza, dynamic verification
manager, Central R&D for STMicroelectronics. "Additionally, a key
benefit that we have seen with eCelerator is its performance. We
recently benchmarked a 75x improvement over our previous methodology
-- something that we are delighted to report!"
eCelerator Technology
eCelerator enables users to accelerate their verification by
synthesizing and accelerating the most time-consuming parts of their e
verification language testbench on hardware verification platforms. It
retains access to all of the power of Specman Elite, providing users
with a high degree of visibility into their design and complete
consistency between their software simulations and accelerated
simulations. This enables a single flow from simulation to emulation
without requiring any changes to the e testbench.
"eCelerator is vital technology for system-level verification as
it gives verification engineers the ability to perform
hardware/software co-verification, emulation, acceleration, simulation
and testbench automation all within the same environment," said Sylvie
Hurat, strategic marketing manager for Verisity. "This, coupled with
the substantial boost in verification performance makes eCelerator one
of a kind technology."
eCelerator supports the following hardware emulation/acceleration
systems: Celaro(TM) and VStation hardware emulators from Mentor
Graphics Corporation, and the Incisive Accelerator/Emulator Platform,
or Palladium, from Cadence Design Systems.
